“Mobilegeddon” New Google Algorithm Update

Hello Friends, Today Q-vantage team has posted about latest Google mobile update Algorithm.

Google has already launched a lot of algorithms like penguin, panda and pigeon etc.. Now Google has launched the Google mobile friendly update on 21st April, 2015 and update name is known as “ Mobilegeddon”.

This mobile friendly update will give ranking boost to all mobile friendly web pages in Google’s mobile search results. This will impact only mobile searchers not desktop searchers. Now mobile users can easily find valuable relevant results where text is readable without tapping or zooming, tap targets are spaced appropriately, and the page avoids unplayable content or horizontal scrolling.

Mobilegeddon Google Update:

  • Affects only search rankings on mobile devices
  • Affects search results in all languages globally
  • Applies to pages to pages, not entire websites

According to an earlier report on TechCrunch, a 2013 study said that two-thirds of the Fortune 100 were not ready for mobile search. And after running some tests this year, it appears that progress has been slow – as noted above, just over half (52 percent) of the Fortune 500 operated mobile-friendly websites ahead of Google’s update.

Today, Google is rolling out its mobile-friendly update – something that could potentially affect over 40 percent of Fortune 500 websites, according to recent tests.

Google says the rollout of new mobile friendly update begins today, and webmasters can test their sites using various tools, including the Mobile-Friendly Test or the Mobile Usability report in Webmaster Tools.
